Job Description:
Research: The position will support externally sponsored research activities for faculty in the Engineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure and Environment as well as other stakeholders within the University of Florida and external stakeholders, including producing experimental design plans for emerging technology and assisting with the data collection and analysis. Additional responsibilities include performing background research to aid writing of scientific papers and disseminating findings across related channels. The incumbent is expected to keep up to date with current advancements in the area of Transportation Engineering and incorporate these advancements in the research implementation.
FTSRC Implementation: This position will assist the Grant Program coordinator of the Florida Traffic Safety Resource Center (FTSRC) which includes Occupant Protection Resource Center, Florida Occupant Protection Coalition (FOPC), Pedestrian and Bicycle safety resource center, and Transportation Safety Center. This includes preparing and presenting at the FOPC meeting, research the resource needs, developing program performance metrics, and implementation of grant activities.
Deliver training for the T2 Center. Assists in seeking new grant funding opportunities and in writing grant applications, develop presentation on research activities at state and national conferences.
Other duties as assigned.
Expected Salary:
$52,500 - $60,000; commensurate with qualifications and experience
Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent and six years of relevant experience; or Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master's in Civil Engineering
2. Engineer-in-Training or Engineer Intern certification
3. Experience with WordPress
4. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
5. Field research experience, including experimental design, data collection, and analysis.
