Position Title: Enrollment Specialist (Temporary, Part-Time, up to 19.5 hours per week)

Department: Student Affairs

Rate of Pay: $20.19/hour

Closed Date: Open Until Filled

Position Summary:

The Enrollment Specialist performs duties involving the interpretation, evaluation, and communication of student services information for students, the general public, and College employees. The areas of information include, but are not limited to: admissions, advising, assessment and testing, career services, financial aid, graduation services, new student orientation, registration, student self-service, veteran's services, and the welcome desk, assisting students, employees and the public with providing general advising, admissions, and registration information and sharing processes and steps regarding new student orientation, graduation information, along with assisting with other general student inquiries.

Evening and Saturday work shift availability may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide a full range of student services support to students and the general public by responding to inquiries and requests for information and assistance in person, online, or by telephone
  • Assist and inform students with student services processes, procedures, and policies, which include, but are not limited to: admissions; advising; registration; new student orientation; self-service and basic information regarding placement testing; financial aid and veterans, and make appropriate referrals to those services and areas
  • Assist students in navigating the student portal and online student services processes
  • Interpret complex information, make evaluative determinations and recommendations regarding services, programs, and procedures to students, College employees and the public
  • Conduct student transactions; maintain and update student academic records utilizing the College information system
  • Assist students in the resolution of issues, concerns, and problems
  • Communicate with students and the general public to promote the College's services and programs
  • Prepare for and participate in a variety of College workshops, meetings, and/or training sessions
  • Assist in supporting and participating in staff training as needed
  • Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; participate in establishing and implementing unit policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature or level
Job Requirements:
  • Associates degree and 
  • Two years experience in student services
or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
Preferred:
  •  Strong Customer Service skills
The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures and practices
  • Knowledge of internal and external customer service principles and practices
  • Skill in effective communication (both written and oral)
  • Skill in performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature
  • Skill in positive, productive, and flexible customer service
  • Skill in analyzing data and drawing conclusions
  • Ability to apply effective and accurate data entry and typing skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective and positive working relationships
  • Ability to operate relevant equipment required to complete assigned responsibilities for the position
