Position Summary

MAG Aerospace is looking for self-motivated Modeling and Simulation Manager to lead an engineer MBSE team in support of C5ISR Modernization.

Overall this position will conduct engineering, prototype development, analysis, and testing to develop, modernize, and integrate solutions in support of the U.S. Government Program Office priorities and requirements across the spectrum of C5ISR, networks, waveform development, aerial relay solutions, high altitude payloads, deployable communications, spectrum and bandwidth management, communications and data analytics at the tactical edge, and other emerging requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the daily activities of an Enterprise Architecture team, to include managing/overseeing work-flow, task assignment, coordination meetings with engineers and stakeholders, understanding customer requirements, and ensuring on-time delivery of EA work products.
  • Participate in MAG business development meetings and provide EA subject matter expert input, as required.
  • Lead an MBSE team that will develop, integrate, modernize, and prototype developmental systems and enhancements to existing U.S. Government Program Office networks, C5ISR systems, and capabilities.
  • Perform MBSE to analyze, define, design, and document components, systems, and systems of systems under development as a model. The model shall be used to manage system information and data relationships, to include hardware and software system interfaces with sensors (or sensor data), global models, mission management, mission processing, C5ISR architecture and infrastructure, and systems integration and testing.
  • Conduct engineering trade-off studies and analyses; modify original designs; plan and complete design validation testing; integrate technologies; participate in individual and group experiments; make technical recommendations; prepare technical data packages; verify that product assurance and safety requirements are met; prepare maintenance support documentation; and review engineering changes, waivers, and deviations for impact on design, performance, safety, and production.
  • May also be required to provide informal training for team members and Systems Engineers, as directed.
  • Conduct technology assessments and recommend software and hardware technologies, tools, applications, networks, and architectures
  • Conduct Modeling and Simulation (M&S) to develop engineering designs and prototypes
  • Repair or modify designs for developmental systems to make optimizations, enhancements, and increase effectiveness
  • Conduct research and analysis to address a wide range of technical issues. Conduct robust analysis for multiple systems engineering activities, Analyses of Alternatives (AoAs), and Business Case Analyses (BCAs) Identify technology and acquisition alternatives and recommend material and non-material solutions for development
  • Conduct research, analysis, experimentation, war-gaming, studies, and material solutions assessments to pro-actively develop solutions that meet the U.S. Government Program Office priorities
  • Assess new emerging technology (e.g., IT technologies, C5ISR, radios, machine learning, Internet of things, cloud, deployable communications kits, and at-the-edge data analytic capabilities) for potential benefits and make recommendations to the U.S. Government Program Office for further analysis, development, and prototype testing to include initial deployment recommendation
  • Perform system evaluations and demonstrations.
  • Prepare planning and informational presentations related to the system evaluations and demonstrations
  • Responsible for working with Systems Engineers and stakeholders to thoroughly understand and document customer requirements and needs

Requirements

Minimum RequirementsExperience:
  • At least 10 years of experience as an Enterprise Architect (EA)-15 years preferred.
  • At least 5 years of EA leadership experience.
  • Experience leading or managing model-based systems engineering activities
  • Engineering experience with DoD C5ISR architectures and systems
  • Leadership/management experience in an MBSE environment
  • Previous experience developing system models and architectures
  • Previous experience leading the demonstration of technical presentations to the DoD customers
  • Experienced with IBM DOORS Software tools and thorough understanding of requirements traceability
  • Experienced with Cameo, MySQL, Anaconda, Intercax, UI Path, and PowerBi applications
  • Applicant must be familiar with architecture diagramming and modeling software (i.e., Cameo/MagicDraw, Visio Professional). Applicant must also be proficient with Microsoft office tools (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Applicant must be trained in the Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and the Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) modeling method (i.e., INCOSE Objected-Oriented Systems Engineering Method [OOSEM]). SysML certification is a bonus capability.
  • Applicant must have considerable Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) experience (at least 8 years) and capable of understanding and building all DoDAF viewpoints (i.e., All views, Capability,
  • Data and Information, Operational, Project, Systems, Services, and Standards), as required.
  • Applicant must understand the value and purpose of each DoDAF view and each SysML diagram to confidently articulate product benefits to leaders and other stakeholders.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering in any of the recognized Engineering disciplines or a BA degree in IT-related fields -MA preferred.

Clearance:
  • Current Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Secure Compartmented Information (SCI).
