General Duties

  • Works independently (with moderate supervision), or on project teams
  • Able to manage schedule and technical product development for small, focused tasks
  • Able to supervise small numbers of junior staff on projects or teams
  • Perform calculations applying mechanical engineering principles, techniques, procedures and criteria
  • Prepare quality assurance reviews of simple analyses or other engineering documentation
  • Develop test procedures to ensure equipment and system performance
  • Interfaces with client peer level
  • Performs quality assurance reviews of simple analyses, calculations and drawings developed by junior staff
  • Perform engineering and sizing of auxiliary machinery piping systems for early ship concept design phases
  • Interfaces with client at peer level
  • Direct interface with design leads

Minimum Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship and must be eligible to be granted a security clearance if required.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education in Mechanical or Marine Engineering
  • Professional Engineering Certification (in Mechanical or Marine Engineering or other applicable discipline)
  • Experience in shipyard production preferred
  • Experience with marine/ship piping systems design and engineering preferred
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard mechanical system design and analysis software tools
  • Systems include main and auxiliary propulsion, fuel systems, lubrication systems, seawater and fresh water systems, heating and ventilating and air conditioning systems
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard mechanical system design and analysis software tools
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or other CAD type software
Security Requirements
Applicant will be subject to a security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government. In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening for base access.
