General Summary:

Immediate need for an experience Environmental Compliance Technician to work on our Concrete Placement Subcontract for the Spent Fuel Handling Recapitalization Project (SFHP) near Idaho Falls, ID. This large construction project will replace aging infrastructure for spent nuclear fuel handling.

This project will be a fast-paced, 12-month project where Granite will be responsible for placing over 300,000 CY of Concrete and 10,000,000 LB of Reinforcing Steel.

This position is responsible understanding compliance with environmental regulations and requirements on the heavy civil construction site. Day or night shifts are available.

Job Description:

Essential Job Accountabilities

  • Perform and document compliance
  • Educate and coordinate with construction operations staff
  • Measuring and documenting results of environmental monitoring
  • Determining conformance with specifications and internal procedures
  • Primary responsibility for calibration of equipment in accordance with quality system
  • Review of production and quality documentation
  • Assists in the maintenance of all inspection and testing equipment and the implementation of new quality assurance procedures.
  • Provides assistance to the following departments or functions: production, shipping and receiving, inventory control, maintenance, and employee training.
  • Performs other quality related responsibilities as needed.

Education
  • High School Diploma, GED
  • Associates degree or equivalent 3 years of experience preferred

Work Experience
  • Minimum 3 year of quality, engineering, or environmental experience in a construction setting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to write reports and communicate with construction staff
  • Should possess basic literacy and computation skills and the ability to read and take basic measurements
  • Basic proficiency in Excel is required
