Are you our next Sr Environmental Specialist?

The Environmental Specialist Sr will have senior level responsibilities for environmental compliance, permitting, education and stewardship for the Riverview Florida facility with focus on Title V air program. Provides evaluation of plant operations with respect to existing and proposed environmental requirements and advises management on air compliance and initiates and directs facility environmental improvements. Conducts inspections with regulatory agents and prepares and submits regulatory reports and correspondence. Interprets regulatory language and determines applicability. Negotiates requirements with regulatory agencies. Responds to "on call" environmental issues.

What will you do?

  • Ensure compliance with all environmental requirements (statutes, regulations, permits, licenses, policies and procedures) through inspections, testing and evaluation of plant operations and develop and implement plans and procedures for use. Analyze process and environmental data for compliance and trend evaluations and prepare reports for regulatory agencies, management, community groups and other stakeholders. Preparation of air permit applications and PSD evaluations based on operational needs at the various facilities. Coordination of permit applications from evaluation of the need for the permit through agency negotiations, and permit receipt. Communication with operations teams of permit conditions, production limitations and parametric monitoring requirements. Preparation of annual operating reports, statements of compliance, emissions reports and various internal compliance reports.
  • Manage environmental aspects of projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and selecting contractors. Supervise/coach contractors and possible direct reports depending on work location.
  • Develop & present environmental training materials and proactive initiatives and regular progress updates for employees, management, contractors, and external audiences (regulatory agencies, community & stakeholders) at Mosaic locations.
  • Other duties as applicable.

What do you need for this role?
  • Bachelor's Degree required, with a major in Environmental Science, orEnvironmental/Environmental Health Engineering.
  • 5 years of direct experience in environmental control/management or industrial manufacturing.
  • Thorough knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, permitting and legal process involving regulatory rule-making.
  • Direct prior experience with Title V program compliance.
  • Environmental Law experience preferred.
  • Industrial Manufacturing knowledge.
  • Training and Development experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work and travel independently.
  • Ability to read technical/ legal information and effectively communicate complex issues verbally and in writing.
  • Above-average communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop and conduct environmental training for all employees.
