At CTEH, the Equipment Manager oversees equipment and resources to support various emergency response and industrial hygiene activities of the company. Key responsibilities of the role include ensuring that all outbound resources are timely delivered to support field operations and overseeing the return and re-inventorying of all materials, equipment and resources from the field to the appropriate storage location. The Equipment Manager is additionally responsible for ordering new equipment and supplies to support both internal needs and external client needs. The Equipment Manager will also act as a member of the Emergency Response team when needed and is subject to on call duties for emergency response and occasional, extended travel.

ACTIVITIES/TASKS/SCOPE

  • Oversees the location's equipment room;
  • Ensures timely delivery of all equipment and supplies to field sites and ensures all logistics needs are identified and addressed;
  • Receives and re-inventories equipment returned from the field;
  • Maintains timely orders for all kits located within Readynet database (TestNETm TacTox, UPRR)
  • Maintains asset tracking systems for his/her location and works continuously with the IT Department to maintain an effective tracking of supplies;
  • Maintains timely orders for all clients;
  • Maintains timely store estimates related to emergency response projects for delivery to accounting and onsite project managers;
  • Maintains a clean and orderly equipment supply room daily;
  • Ensures the proper maintenance, calibration and repair of all field equipment and assets;
  • Oversees the replenishment of equipment and disposables;
  • May act as a member of an Emergency Response team; and,
  • Performs such other duties as assigned.
OTHER DESIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal directions; and,
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree majoring in Business Administrations, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Emergency Management with a science-related minor (Biology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental, Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, or other related science; or,
  • Three to five years of experience in business, logistics, customer relations, or EH&S-related field, substituted in lieu of a degree;
  • Prior experience in logistics, inventory control or a related field (preferred); and,
  • Advanced computer skills in a Windows-based platform (required).
CERTIFICATION/OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • HAZWOPER certification (required, may be acquired post-hire)
  • DISA clearance (required, may be obtained post-hire)
  • TWIC clearance (required, may be obtained post-hire)
  • Current driver's license (required)
  • Ability to obtain a passport (required)
  • Completion of all job specific OSHA training
  • Ability to comply with all job specific OSHA requirements, including the wear of a respirator

  • Lifting to 50 pounds several times a day

  • Ability to read effectively from a computer screen, sampling device and/or a paper copy
  • Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to drive noncommercial vehicles
  • Rarely may work shifts of up to 24 hours in duration
  • Dress out in physically demanding personal protective equipment (PPE) for site entry at HAZWOPER sites as required under 29CFR 1910.120
  • Wear half-face and full-face air purifying respirator (APR) as well as supplied air respirators in the form of Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and hose supplied respirator with medical clearance as required under 29CFR 1910.134
  • Wear partially or totally encapsulating personal protective equipment

  • Works in an office environment when not deployed on an emergency response;
  • May work outdoors and may be exposed to hot and cold environments and extreme weather conditions, including sunlit, rainy and windy conditions;
  • May occasionally work shifts up to 24 hours in duration;
  • Encounter environments presenting physical hazards of uneven ground, standing water, ditches, dusty conditions, rapidly moving transportation and remediation equipment, and physical stress associated with the wear of personal protective equipment;
  • May work at altitudes greater than 5000 feet above sea level;
  • May work on land, sea or air;
  • May work in a setting with potential physical and chemical hazards; and
  • Occasional, extended travel.
