Troubleshoot, test, pm, and inspect all types of DC (Charger, UPS, and Battery) systems. Perform as lead person on projects. Complex charger and UPS calibration, troubleshooting, and repair capabilities, use of load and power quality recording instrumentation and analysis of the data, capable of performing UPS startup procedures on all types of UPS systems. Supervise installations (Charger, UPS, and Battery) being performed by DC services or contract personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first level escalation support for fellow associates with-in the Area regarding batteries
  • Provide On-the-Job training as required on test equipment, batteries, and software as required
  • Provide Area Sales Service team with technical consultation and provide technical assistance to the Area battery sales business.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Performs many complicated work-related tasks
  • Requires no direct supervision for daily operations based upon training
  • Leads and directs the work of other associates in the District
  • Provides guidance and instruction to others on complicated situations
Technical
  • Perform work related tasks according to company guidelines for scheduled maintenance
  • Troubleshoot, test, pm and inspect DC systems to identify problems
  • Maintain customer's DC system in proper condition
  • Install battery systems according to the manufacturers specifications
  • Provide testing and analysis of battery capacity testing during start-ups
  • On-site support for battery replacements as required
  • Inspection and maintenance of the customer's battery systems to identify potential problems
  • Provide special Battery testing in assigned Area, including but not limited to: load testing, individual and complete system testing, and cellcorder resistance testing.
  • Render on site and phone assistance to customers and fellow associates
  • Communicate with National Technical Support on procedural or technical issues
  • Perform work related tasks according to company guidelines for scheduled maintenance
  • Implement Field Change Notices according to published guidelines
  • Keep current on Safety Bulletins, Safety Field Change Notices, Field Change Notices, and Service Tips
  • Provide annual audit review of all area battery specialist and CE, regarding competencies of battery PM's, annual maintenance and other testing of batteries.
  • Provide input for issues needing to be addressed for any re-training or clarification on batteries to the field regarding technical information.
Safety
  • Operate in a safe manner in accordance with published safety guidelines
  • Must wear appropriate PPE as per company guidelines and accordance with job duties
  • Adhere to work hours policy guidelines - "14 hours rule"
  • Report all work related accidents or injuries within 24 hours to the appropriate personnel.
Administration
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting according to company guidelines
  • Time cards, expense reports, mileage reports, ticket closure, etc.
  • Maintain individual inventory in accordance with company policy
  • Provide estimated time of arrival to the Customer Response Center where applicable
  • Maintain company property according to company policies
  • Vehicle, credit cards, PPE, test equipment, laptop, pager, etc.
