The Role

The Global Head of MSAT for the Global DS Unit is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the Manufacturing Science and Technology activities across our international network. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the consistent application of our platform technology across all manufacturing sites in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia and any future sites. Your leadership will ensure that MSAT support activities are effectively managed to maintain the highest standards of quality, compliance, and efficiency in our drug substance production processes.

Here's What You'll Do

  • Lead the global MSAT platform team to drive technological consistency and process optimization across our internal & external network, which includes manufacturing sites in US, UK, Canada, Switzerland, Spain & Australia.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive global MSAT strategy that supports the production of drug substances and aligns with our aggressive launch timeline.
  • Spearhead the review and improvement of our technical transfer processes, aligning them with the company's aspiration for rapid and efficient product launches.
  • Continuously review and enhance our process control strategy to ensure the robustness and reliability of our manufacturing processes, thereby reducing supply risk.
  • Ensure that MSAT support activities are effectively managed, providing a high level of technical leadership to maintain quality and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate product lifecycle management and the seamless introduction of new products.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing MSAT team capable of dynamic range-equally adept at driving both the strategic vision and tactical execution necessary for operational success.
  • Serve as a key technical leader during regulatory inspections and audits, demonstrating expertise and a commitment to compliance.
  • Act as a change agent within the organization, promoting innovative solutions and continuous improvement in all aspects of MSAT operations.

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table
  • Advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field.
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant industry experience, with a strong preference for candidates with a decade of leadership experience in MSAT or process development.
  • Demonstrated success in managing global teams and projects, with a proven ability to work effectively across diverse cultures and geographies.
  • In-depth understanding of biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes, regulatory landscapes, and risk management.
  • Experience in leading successful technology transfers and process scale-ups, ideally within an aggressive product launch environment.
  • Strategic thinker with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, complemented by a hands-on approach to operational execution.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, adept at building relationships and guiding teams through complex projects.
  • Willingness to travel internationally to support and integrate global operations.
