The Exercise Physiologist- PRN is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses - are licensed, knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and implements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association.

Job Summary:
The Exercise Physiologists will encounter multiple environments across a multifaceted integrated delivery system at WellStar Health System, like exposure to the outpatient clinic environment, employee wellness, and fitness centers and beyond. Working within a team of healthcare professionals including medical doctors, registered dietitians, nurses, and other exercise physiologists, the Exercise Physiologist will have an exciting, well-rounded experience within our healthcare system. The Exercise Physiologist is responsible for planning, performing all assessments, testing and exercise activity related to patient care.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Patient Care - Creates and conduct exercise assessments and exercise prescriptions based on physician recommendation. - Assist with vital sign collection (height, weight, waist circumference, etc.) and conduct fitness tests. - Explain any exercise/procedure/testing to patients using appropriate verbiage and patient education materials. - Prepare exercise/treatment area and organize/clean any equipment necessary for patient care. - Supervise and monitor patients during exercise/testing until exercise/testing conclusion. - Motivate patients to achieve their goals. - Explain to patient about any medical results from appointment and how information will be shared. - Documents care and other patient information for medical record including history, treatment, consultations. - Complies with department policies/procedures and regulations. - Interview and assess patient needs for intended behavior modification. - Performs appropriate follow-up, either status check or coaching, via telephone and MyChart. - Check any necessary equipment for proper functioning. - Follow established procedure pertaining to the care of equipment and supplies. Prepare, maintain and clean-up work stations. - Maintains patient confidentiality. - Other duties as assigned. - Follow AIDET. Leadership in Group Setting - Create/conduct group education/support groups/fitness classes to promote a healthy lifestyle. Collaboration - Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and update as needed on patient performance. - Work with colleagues within WellStar Health System to improve processes where appropriate.
Required Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree Science, Exercise Science Required
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
Basic Life Support 1.00 Required BLS - Instructor 1.00 Required BLS - Provisional 1.00 Required
Additional Licenses and Certifications:

Required Minimum Experience:
Minimum 1 year clinic setting. Required or
Required Minimum Skills:
Use of appropriate evaluation and treatment of patients.
