Purpose of the Role

Under supervision of the Field Operations Manager, the Stormwater Maintenance Estimator performs such tasks and duties as are necessary for inspecting stormwater structures and systems including but not limited to drywells, envibro systems, treatment systems, stormwater inlets, and wastewater collection systems. The position also assists sales with creating proposals for maintaining and or repairing stormwater structures.

Working Environment

Work is performed outdoors, at new and existing construction site projects. Field work is generally in retention basins, parking lots or in streets and roads. The work requires driving to the work site, lifting tools, manhole covers, conducting confined space entry, working near heavy equipment and traffic, and coordination with the inside sales teams. Other duties include administrative paperwork, working with tablets, computers, and phones as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect stormwater systems and wastewater collection systems.
  • Identify components of systems and structures needing repairs.
  • Communicate and conduct job walks with prospective customers.
  • Assist sales team by providing clear estimate of the scope of work required and proposal generation.
  • Support field and internal team members to achieve team goals. • Follow standards and procedures.
  • Communicate and work with the maintenance team pertinent project information to be captured into FileMaker.
  • Drive, navigate, and operate company vehicles.
  • Load and unload equipment and material.
  • Perform routine inspections and service procedures on company vehicle and equipment.
  • Perform percolation test on drywells.
  • Present project-specific solutions to internal and external customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with solid background in stormwater treatment and maintenance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Enthusiasm and passion for the business and achieving organizational goals
  • Team player able to share thoughts openly, accept new ideas and get the job done

Physical Requirements

  • The work requires balancing, climbing, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds (manhole covers, drywell covers and grates, catch basin grates), pushing, pulling, reaching, stooping, and walking carrying support equipment. Ascending or descending ladders up to 30' deep. Confined space entries. Standing next to and entering drywells, catch basins and stormwater manholes that can be 5' deep or deeper. Working near vehicle and heavy equipment traffic.
