Lead all aspects of finance business partnering and advisory services to US Oncology Market Access Team. Responsible for oversight of planning, reporting, and accounting integrity of the gross-to-net process for US OBU. Reporting to the US OBU CFO and a key member of the US OBU FLT and US OBU Market Access.

Major Responsibilities

  • Key Business Partner to the OC&A Vice President
  • Accountability for the monthly close process and rebate reserve analysis for the US OBU Portfolio Brands/Franchise, including analysis of customer rebate payments vs. accruals and development of sales projections & application of judgment to ascertain the correct liability needed to reflect AstraZeneca's financial performance.
  • Develop robust, proactive, and forward-looking financial models to support evolution of Oncology brands' market access strategies and contracting strategies, through close collaborations with Franchise Finance Directors, Market Access Directors, and Contracting Strategy Directors.
  • Support US OBU CFO in evolving US Oncology GtN finance strategies to address unique pricing & reimbursement challenges in multiple US Oncology therapy areas. Structure and execute scenario planning analyses to assess impact of legislative change impacts.
  • Develop conceptual financial framework for deal structuring, create financial models of possible contract scenarios detailing cost/benefit analysis including considerations such as competitor response to AstraZeneca's offerings, Medicaid best price impact, and the effects the contract may have on other contracts.
  • Ownership, maintenance, and development of cloud-based gross-to-net forecasting system to provide business insights, reporting, and data integrity
  • Analyze customer contract performance and identify potential issues where actual performance is not meeting expectations.
  • Full responsibility for accounting, forecast and related financial analysis for affordability programs and all other gross to net adjustments.
  • Closely collaborate with Franchise Finance teams to develop rebate and discount forecasts for all RBUs (Rolling Business Update) and MTPs (Mid-Term Plan), manage the accuracy of rebate accrual percentages used in SAP, and ensure rebate expense is correctly stated.
  • Act as subject matter expert and thought partner to understand and reconcile external market events and legislative changes to project impact and inform strategic response in partnership with Market Access leadership.
  • Lead recommendation impact and scenario analysis of all WAC price increases.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
  • 5+ years work experience preferebly in pharmaceutical commercial finance with emphasis on Gross to Net and Managed Market finance.
  • Possess a solid understanding of the internal and external sources of Managed Markets sales related data, including key financial systems critical for Managed Market finance (SAP, Hyperion, Anaplan, Model N etc.).
  • In depth knowledge of EXCEL and working knowledge of other MS Office applications, PowerBI, and/or other cloud-based solutions.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and draw conclusions from less than certain data.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Background
  • Knowledge of the evolving landscape of managed care industry and pharmaceutical distribution networks
  • Prior experience in harmonizing complex GtN financial models across multiple therapy areas to drive standardization / efficiency while maintaining process agility to accommodate therapy area specific needs
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team and liaising with senior managers leaders
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including oral & written
