JOB SUMMARY:

The Operations Finance Manager is responsible for driving enhancements to profitability and sound management of Regional business investments and capital deployment, while working with the Regional Finance Director and in partnership with the regional Vice President, Operations and their respective Operational Leadership Team. The successful candidate will be expected to routinely provide business insights on region's financial performance to regional leadership. Although aligned with a Region may be responsible for national initiatives on cost improvement

In New England, the operations manager will be actively involved in existing joint venture with an academic hospital in Massachusetts. Management of the JV P&L in addition to interaction with our JV partners at the hospital will be an opportunity to learn more about the business and will take place monthly.

This position will have direct reports.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure integrity of financial reporting processes

• Analyze financial and operational reports, and interface with field and Operations Excellence on local cost improvement plans

• Maintain financial integrity of the joint venture financials in addition to ensuring our partners are updated on results monthly.

• Manage external audit for the joint venture

• Acts as primary interface with centralized accounting and other corporate functions while fostering a financial center of excellence model

• Monitor, benchmark and analyze:

o Productivity performance by department and function

o Productivity and Expense Trending - support of actions required to improve

o Analyze Supply and Lab Sub performance, including cost and test menu analysis

• Extensive involvement with FP&A in capital deployment activity, including

o Capital Spend monitoring and budgeting

o Investment look back analysis

o ROI and NPV calculations for prioritization of capital projects

• Interface with Operations Excellence in the validation of monthly Invigorate Reporting and messaging to Regional Operations Leadership Team

• Provides FP&A with financial forecast of cost improvement initiatives, based on acquired business insights from Regional Operations Leadership Team

• Interfaces with Corp Planning and Analysis group

• Internal Control Oversight

o SOX Testing for financial controls and others as identified

o Physician Inventory, including Supplies and

o Asset management

• All other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• A Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting

• MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred

• Approx. 7+ years experience of professional accounting/finance experience

• Highly self motivated to "make a difference"

• Strong communication skills and ability to challenge up appropriately

• Capable of deploying and articulating strategic solutions to prospective business challenges

• Demonstrates a strong knowledge of operational and financial processes and practical application of financial and strategic analysis

• Extensive Microsoft Excel skills strongly desired - Essbase knowledge a plus but not required

• Ability to manage multiple priorities

• People management experience is a plus but not required
