Under general supervision from a Food Service Leader or Supervisor, performs routine work in simple food preparation, serving and cleanup tasks in a state facility.

Schedule: Part Time: 06:00am-02:30pm, 09:00am-05:30pm or 11:30 am-8:00pm Monday-Friday with rotating weekends (Days off: TBA);Part Time: 6:00am-10:00am, 3:45pm-8:00pm or 5:00pm-8:00pm Monday thru Friday; 4:00pm-8:00 pm Monday thru Friday with rotating weekends (Days off TBA); 10:00am-5:00pm Saturday-Sunday
Examples of Work
Operate dish machine; portion and serve foods; perform cleaning duties in dish room and cold room; pull food carts to outlying areas; serve meals; prepare nourishments, snacks in quantity food production. Assist with snack preparation; making sandwiches, bagging meat, bagging bread, setting up juices and fruits.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Coursework, training and/or experience in food preparation, food service or working in a kitchen.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: personal hygiene; basic kitchen equipment supplies and utensils; basic food stuffs such as fruits, vegetables, bakery goods, meats and poultry; food preparation procedures for salads, sandwiches, short order items and other routinely prepared foods; facility standards and procedures for the cleaning of dishes, utensils, equipment and facilities; food sanitation and food preparation schedules.
Skills: Ability to read, understand and follow facility kitchen and dining room safety practice; safely use knives and handle hot equipment or utensils; follow written and oral instructions.
Ability: Tolerate high temperature and high humidity; communicate effectively with facility residents, patients or members; bend, stoop, lift and carry food items, equipment and supplies
