Summary of Duties:

Under general supervision of Dining Services Manager, responsible for working with unit chef and culinary team in preparation and presentation of food in assigned area(s) to include: platform menu items, special menus, prep items and catering menu items. Develop and ensure proper par stock ordering levels so that sufficient quantities of product are on hand while minimizing waste from over purchasing. Responsible for proper handling and storage of all food products. Provide an adequate supply of clean, sanitary and properly stored dishware, utensils, and pots and pans to appropriate work locations.


Required Qualifications:

  • Possession of, or eligible for, a food handler's permit AND one year of experience in quantity or institutional food preparation AND serving, which includes six months experience directing the work of others; OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Washington Food Handler's Permit within 14 days of employment.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two to five years food service experience.

  • Multi-faceted food experience.

  • Experience leading and training employees.

  • General knowledge of commercial grade kitchen equipment use, safety, and maintenance.

Monthly Salary:

Range 35 $3,246.00 to $3,821.00 (Steps F - M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
