Forklift Mechanic

Georgia-Pacific's Consumer Products facility in Wauna/Clatskanie, Oregon is a high-speed manufacturer of a variety of tissue and paper products. Upon successful completion of your 90-working day probation, you will receive one week of vacation to use during the current June 1, 2022 to May 31, 2023 calendar year.

Schedule: Day Shift - Monday through Friday (6:00 am to 2:30pm)

Starting Wage:$41.50 per hour

What You Will Do In Your Role

·In this role, an estimate of 80-90% of work time will be in the shop, and 10-20% of work time will be assisting with other millwright-based maintenance activities.

·Candidates must be able to manage a changing workload driven by mill production needs.

·Maintenance employees are expected to assist with other maintenance crafts as needed to support major equipment outages.

·Maintenance employees are expected to be proficient in more than one trade.

·If upon hire an individual is not proficient in more than one trade it is expected that the individual will become proficient in at least two recognized tradessuch as industrial maintenance (bearings set-up, laser alignment, pump rebuilds, mounting and un-mounting, or other), welding, carpentry, machining, pipefitting, etc.

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements

·Current Associate Degree in Automotive Technology, Diesel/Heavy Equipment Technology or related field required

·Minimum of two (2) years of experience in machinery diagnostics, hydraulics, electrical systems 6V -96V, fuel systems (carbureted, propane, injected) brake systems & basic tire repair

·Experience conducting preventative and corrective maintenance of mobile equipment

·Computer skills so as to generate, distribute and maintain maintenance records

What Will Put You ahead

·Prior industrial maintenance, welding, carpentry, machining, and/or pipefitting experience.

·Experience with mobile cranes, electric vehicles, scissor & boom lifts

·Ability to read wiring/hydraulic schematics
