Job Summary/Basic Function:
Responsible for advising, developing, implementing, and evaluating services and programs for fraternities and sororities at Boise State.

Level Scope:
Entry-level professional with limited or no prior experience to contribute on a project or work team. Incumbent learns to use professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity under close supervision while achieving day-to-day objectives. Works on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature, requiring limited judgment and decision making. This level is typically focused on self-development. Requires theoretical knowledge through specific education and training.

Essential Functions:
Organized within the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, the Student Involvement and Leadership Center provides space and context for students to explore purpose and realize potential. The Fraternity and Sorority Life Coordinator is at the center of the action, advising and supporting our growing community of 23 fraternities and sororities in specific duties that include (but are not limited to):


  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programming for the fraternity and sorority community to promote leadership development, academic excellence, positive relationships, values congruence, and civic engagement.
  • Advising and supporting the Interfraternity, Panhellenic, and Multicultural councils.
    Providing training and support for fraternity and sorority chapters and alumni advisors.
  • Serving as liaison to fraternity and sorority inter/national chapter headquarters and supporting the expansion of new chapters on campus.
  • Designing and facilitating educational programs that address the member experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Strong alignment and experience around creating a sense of belonging among students.
  • The ability to build rapport with a variety of students with different backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences.
  • An understanding of student development and creating an environment conducive to student success as it is described and written about in the current higher education literature.
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Candidates who think creatively, display flexibility, and have positive, patient, and welcoming demeanors are sought for this position.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Development, Leadership Development, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a field that would prepare one for college student advising, event planning, and curriculum design and development.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary range begins at $42,910.40 depending on experience.
