Job Description Summary:
This role will report to the Director of Fraud and Credit Risk Oversight within the Financial and Model Risk organization (second line of defense) and will support enterprise-wide oversight of risk functions, with focus on Internal and External Fraud policies and strategies. The role will have exposure to a diversity of challenges, products and partners across the company, and will contribute to building a strong risk management culture within a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment.

The Role

The Fraud Risk Oversight Analyst will report to the Director of Fraud and Credit Risk Oversight within the Financial and Model Risk organization (second line of defense) and will support enterprise-wide oversight of risk functions, with focus on Internal and External Fraud policies and strategies. You will have the opportunity to get exposure to a diversity of challenges, products, and partners across the company, and will contribute to building a strong risk management culture within a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment.

This role will also support the evaluation of controls and identification of potential risks, as well as provide guidance to remediation plans and issue closure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining the Fraud policy requirements aligned with industry best practices, as well as adapting them to the PayPal's needs.
  • Perform and refresh elements of credible challenge and risk assessment, including risk identification, documentation, rating & control evaluation
  • Support the formalization and execution of gap analysis, as well as definition of remediation plans and validation of their respective deliverables
  • Responding to Internal and External Audit, Regulator and Partner inquiries
  • Review and derive insights from key risk metrics, including interpreting the data provided through dashboards and reporting
  • Provide assertions on risk exposure and articulate and present escalated risks to management
  • Maintain strong understanding of key risk management principles and PayPal products and services
  • Represent the Fraud Risk Oversight team in risk forums

Optimal Profile

Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 3 years+ of Risk management, Compliance, Regulatory, banking or similar experience
  • Experience in Internal and External Fraud, Analytics & Preventative Controls within the online payments space
  • Experience in managing risks, controls, and/or compliance obligations, preferably in the financial industry including managing or supporting the following:
    • The identification, assessment, control, and response to risks;
  • Development of risk response plans, including the development, prioritization, and communication of;
  • Driving adherence to risk and compliance policies and procedures;
  • Monitoring key risks and identifying emerging risks
  • Navigating within a three lines of defense model to address risk matters.
  • Experience in control and/or process design
  • Track record of driving action to support business results

  • Strong computer knowledge; excellent MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
