Our Capital Markets team is growing, and we are looking for a dynamic candidate who can help us manage our growing customer base, rising trade volume, and expanding international product offering. The FX Operations Associate will take a leading role in managing the daily transaction flow, reconciling accounts, and providing an elevated level of customer service. Also, the incumbent will collaborate with the larger team and help drive execution on several new initiatives and projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers of the Foreign Exchange team.
  • Troubleshoot customer issues and payment instructions.
  • Confirm financial and settlement details with bank customers via phone.
  • Confirm street-side trades and settlements via Swift, dealer proprietary platforms, or phone.
  • Validate transactions and settlements within our FX system of record.
  • Resolve trade detail discrepancies on trades executed through the FX trading desk with internal and/or external counterparties.
  • Ensure all compliance requirements are addressed and documented (e.g., sanction screening; Reg E disclosures; Dodd-Frank swap reporting).
  • Identify and report all suspicious and/or fraudulent activity.
  • Initiate and/or approve cross-border payments in Swift.
  • Initiate and/or approve domestic payments to dealing counterparties using the bank's wire portal.
  • Reconcile Swift activity with Foreign Exchange system of record.
  • Facilitate foreign check clearing through bank external partners.
  • Prepare reports for daily management review.
  • Prepare manual journal entries.
  • Daily nostro reconciliation.
  • Daily Customer foreign currency account reconciliation.
  • Static Data maintenance in the Foreign Exchange system of record.
  • Participate in policy and procedure reviews.
  • Assist with the preparation of audit materials.
  • Ensure Credit Confirmations are processed in an efficient and timely manner in Swift Tracker.
  • Support internal and external clients with banknote issuances and buybacks.
  • Generate and send scheduled mark-to-market statements to FX Derivative customers.
  • Validate settlement instructions against the requirements for the currency and receiving country.
  • Initiate wire investigations and press them to their conclusion.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor to more junior level employees.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of three years working with cross-border payments.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to effectively manage time, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Must have strong customer-service skills.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
