Purpose of Job:

The Manager Trainee works under the direction of the Regional Market Manager. This position involves learning all the aspects of managing an operation including inventory, budget, payroll, staffing, and scheduling.

Job Components:

Responsible for learning:

• All aspects of managing a company-owned distributorship including staffing and operations
• How to lead, direct and supervise all warehouse personnel
• How to develop and maintain all warehouse procedures
• Management of customer relations.
• How to hire, orient, motivate, train and retain staff capable of meeting current and projected needs
• How to make operation meet or exceed all operational goals.

Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 1 year proven managerial experience is required
• Previous experience in a Warehouse or Distribution environment is a plus
• Must have an understanding of financial statements and other reports, demonstrated leadership and motivational abilities
• Proven ability to clearly define goals and instill accountability in direct reports
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills
• Computer skills including MS product knowledge preferred
• Knowledge of battery or automotive systems a plus
• Strong business and customer relations skills
• Proven ability to multi-task and be flexible
• CDL license

• Interact with IOT management team and supervisors
• Work independently and collaboratively with broad general direction
• Interact with both company and franchise locations

Work Environment :

• Heavy computer use
• Interaction with regional and senior management, warehouse personnel and drivers, sales and administrative personnel, vendors and clients
• Work mostly performed in office environment. However will be exposed to warehouse environment, temperature extremes and battery acid
• Some travel may be required
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a repetitive basis
• Clean driving record
• Position requires sitting, standing, bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, climbing, kneeling and lifting/carrying on a frequent basis.
