CALSTART is hiring a GIS Analyst II who is passionate about decarbonizing the transportation sector and setting the stage for a zero-emission future. You will support the Clean Fuels and Infrastructure team with and collaborate across other teams within CALSTART. The successful candidate must have the ability to work independently, feel comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate with external partners.

Additionally, the GIS Analyst II will:

  • You will use your excellent working knowledge of GIS to perform cartographic design, data collection, spatial and data analysis, tool management and creation.
  • Create maps, figures, web applications, and visualizations for use at the state and federal level.
  • Develop web applications, geoprocessing models and other online solutions to support end users.
  • Take responsibility for managing and updating our current tools.
  • Author methodology procedures and generate reports.
  • Conduct data quality assurance and data management tasks as needed.
  • Perform other related GIS duties, support industry conferences, and participate in other CALSTART events as required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies/Science, Geography, Urban Planning or Computer Science.
  • 3-5 years' experience designing, implementing, and administering complex GIS systems and applications
  • Experience using ESRI products is preferred (ArcMap, ArcPro, AGOL, and Story Maps)
  • Strong writing, communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Occasional travel throughout California may be required
  • Remote work is allowed. Local hire is preferred (Los Angeles/Pasadena) area
  • Familiarity with California geography (including but not limited to; major highway corridors, physical terrain, city and county boundaries, etc.)
  • Proficient in Excel and another coding language such as R, Python, or SQL
Preferred Qualifications:
  • GIS Certificate
  • Experience in the transportation sector
  • Database management is a plus
