The Role: Product Operating Model Strategist

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced consulting professional with product management expertise and depth for a unique opportunity to join our Fortune 100 "Best Companies to Work For" firm, where people are the center of our business.

Slalom is seeking an experienced leader to join our company's global practice focused on the full ecosystem of what it takes to effectively deliver value as modern product organization. As the leader of this space, you will be responsible for driving consistent approaches and best practices across our organization and building competencies and upskilling product operating model experts who help our clients accelerate value realization.

What you'll do:

• Build and evolve our perspective and capabilities in what it takes to align organizations around value delivery with strong collaboration and cross-functional alignment. Refine our perspective, framework, and offerings for delivering product operating models including product taxonomy and architecture, team structures and topology, product lifecycle, funding, and governance.

• Develop and curate a repository of knowledge, best practices, frameworks, and tools for designing and activating a product operating model. Promote knowledge sharing and ensure consistent approaches across projects and clients. Nurture a high-performing community of product experts with competency development and learning.

• Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across different teams and departments within the organization. Work closely with other capability leaders to drive synergies and maximize overall value for our clients.

• Support sales and Client Engagement and drive demand. Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic guidance and thought leadership in product management. Engage in pre-sales, act as a sales engineer and collaborate closely with clients to understand their unique challenges and develop tailored solutions.

• Collaborate with sales teams to develop proposals, points-of-view, and other materials to showcase Slalom's capabilities and value proposition. Support client delivery in a SME capacity 60-80%.

• Thought Leadership and Industry Presence: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums. Publish articles, white papers, and thought leadership pieces to establish the company's reputation as a leader in product operating model, product operations, and portfolio management. Create forums for clients to connect and share learnings.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in product management, preferably in a consulting or advisory role.
  • Manage $2.5 - $5 million in sales with active pipeline of client opportunities.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and developing teams.
  • Strong understanding of product management methodologies, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Experience in operating model design and activation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze complex business problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Strong business acumen and client-centric approach.
  • Passion for continuous learning and staying up to date with industry trends.
  • Professional certifications in product management (e.g., Certified Product Manager, Agile Product Owner) are desirable.
