JOB SUMMARY - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

The Global Media and Strategic Communications Manager is a key member of AngioDynamics' Communications Center of Excellence (CCOE) team and will support the planning and implementation of strategic communications to enhance the organization's reputation locally and in all global regional markets. The Global Media and Strategic Communications Manager is responsible for developing public relations plans, media strategies, and integrated communications campaigns for key internal and external audiences, with the goal of promoting AngioDynamics as a leading medical device and technology company.

The role reports to the VP of Communications COE and will work closely with members of the executive and senior leadership teams as well as marketing, product and commercial leaders across EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa), North America, Latin America, and APAC (Asia-Pacific) to produce communications of all types, including press releases, feature stories, media advisories, email campaigns, website/social content, and other promotional/informational materials as needed to drive awareness, education, and value creation.

The ideal candidate must be media savvy, a quick learner and calm when dealing with multiple projects at the same time, and an excellent writer who can work strategically, as well as tactically to achieve desired results. Experience in the use of various social media platforms and the ability to develop a plan and strategy for incorporating social media into overall media relations efforts is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Contribute creative public relations, communication and marketing ideas and content that advances the positive reputation and awareness of AngioDynamics.
  • Prepare stories on an ongoing basis, leveraging profiles, events, and angles to support broader organizational messages for internal and external audiences.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key media in all and global markets.
  • Execute all aspects of media relations including story development, media targeting, pitching, and relationship management.
  • Secure media opportunities for designated spokespeople and conduct interview preparation.
  • Stay current on external news, events, and trends related to the medical device industry, media, health care, relevant disease states, awareness initiatives, and
  • Work closely with executive and senior leadership teams as well as marketing, product and commercial leaders across EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa), North America, Latin America, and APAC (Asia-Pacific) to draft briefing documents, remarks and develop news releases, responses to inquiries and other media-related communications.
  • Provide public relations counsel and ongoing support to all business functions, including but not limited to communications strategy and planning, messaging, media outreach and social media.
  • Build and manage content calendars to guide earned media activities and ensure message alignment and consistency across all relevant markets and/or internal and external audiences.
  • Create and manage implementation of a focused content strategy for digital and analog internal communication channels.
  • Oversee day-to-day social media content across corporate channels.
  • Manage content for the Company intranet and, in partnership with CCOE Brand leaders and regulatory teams, the corporate website to ensure information is accurate, current, and aligns with business strategies.
  • Build and manage tools and materials to increase internal and external audience understanding and engagement with corporate and product brands, including the development of media kits, databases, and other related materials.
  • Utilize media monitoring tools to update media lists/outlets, create custom media lists, create reports on media placements, and monitor daily news/social media alerts.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain appropriate metrics to evaluate impact and effectiveness of external communications. Inform organization stakeholders of PR procedures and best practices to encourage communications consistency.
  • Manage, support, and promote appropriate charitable initiatives and community organizations aligned with the AngioDynamics mission.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS-The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Level of Degree in the journalism, communications, public relations, or related field of study
  • 5 years of demonstrated experience in communications (including internal/external corporate communications, public relations, media affairs or related)
  • Experience working with executive management, social media needed; experience in crisis communications and in regulated industry preferred.
  • Any preferred education, experience or certifications:
Skills/Knowledge
  • Experience in the following computer software applications
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to assess potential effects of AngioDynamics decisions on internal and external audiences and the ability to effectively apprise senior management of such factors
  • Strong journalistic, presentation and interpersonal skills that resonate with audiences of different backgrounds; the ability to communicate persuasively, concisely and unambiguously in speech and in writing
  • Ability to express complex technical and organizational concepts in terms understandable to the news media and the public
  • Demonstrated creative and proactive ability to think "outside the box" in providing direction internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of communications practices and vehicles, including internal communications, external communications, event planning and social media, among others
  • Skilled in team building with an ability to build productive relationships and lead work across all levels of a diverse organization
  • Ability to work well under pressure and a respect for the deadlines
  • Skilled in managing multiple diverse activities simultaneously, delivering on commitments and varying deadlines and operating with speed, accuracy and strong judgment
  • Possess a customer service mentality, business acumen and interest in healthcare industry
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance, instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
