Facebook is looking for a driven, results-oriented manager to join our Governance and Strategic Initiatives Team. The team's mission is to partner with teams across Facebook to design, build, and manage new decision making mechanisms and institutions that give people greater power over Facebook's products and decisions. Current and past projects include the establishment of the Oversight Board to govern Facebook's approach to content moderation.<br><br>In this role, you will be responsible for managing the ongoing evolution and implementation of the governance team's initiatives, partnering with cross-functional teams such as Product, Engineering, Operations, Communications, and Policy to prioritize, lead or contribute to the standup and implementation of large scale strategic governance projects, as well as solve ongoing operational considerations related to the Oversight Board.<br><br>The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, and be comfortable in a role that requires both strong execution and strategic vision. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, and have strong attention to detail. The candidate should also have strong communication skills, enabling them to work with key business stakeholders internally and externally to understand program requirements, shape deliverables, and execute program plans. You should be passionate about the services we provide and the people that we serve.

<ul><li>Work across a team of program managers in strategic planning and execution of governance initiatives</li><li>Help lead efforts to engage key internal and external stakeholders in process design and implementation of strategic initiatives</li><li>Partner with cross-functional teams such as Product, Engineering, Operations, Communications, and Policy to prioritize, lead or contribute to the standup and implementation of large scale strategic governance projects</li><li>Assist strategic planning efforts related to the Oversight Board as well as solve ongoing operational issues that could impede its progress. Facilitate solution generation and implementation for areas that require refinement</li><li>Participate in cross-functional work with other teams at Facebook to design and execute projects</li><li>Serve as a key interlocutor with internal stakeholders to incorporate design considerations and coordinate project execution</li><li>Develop policy and product recommendations based on research and feedback</li><li>Develop tools and metrics for measuring the efficacy of projects</li></ul>

<ul><li>Bachelor's degree</li><li>9+ years of experience in content policy or operations, organizational development, and program management</li><li>Experience managing cross-functional projects, owning escalations, and integrating governance into operations</li><li>Process improvement experience</li></ul>

<ul><li>12+ years of experience in program management</li><li>Experience anticipating project roadblocks, balancing business needs and technical constraints, and operating in a deadline driven environment</li><li>Experience working with executives and building consensus with stakeholders</li><li>Experience working at a technology company or consulting firm</li></ul>
