This position will focus on graduate admissions data and systems management including the graduate application for admission, reporting, application updates, user management, troubleshooting, upgrades, testing, and transactional admission communication. This position will also serve as a liaison and support to staff in the Office of the University Registrar for integration related tasks and ensure collection and usage of the Office of Graduate Studies admission data adheres to Board Of Regents records and retention policy and lead related projects in the Office of Graduate Studies.

Duties of this position include maintaining the data systems for the Office of Graduate Studies; serving as the secondary Graduate Studies liaison with Information Technology Services, NeSIS, the PeopleSoft maintenance team, Institutional Effectiveness and Analytics, Office of the University Registrar, CollegeNet, and other offices and groups related to student information systems; managing collection and usage of Office of Graduate Studies data and leading related projects in the Office of Graduate Studies; and generating accurate reports for OGS Leadership team and other constituents of the Office of Graduate Studies.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in database management, information technology, computer science, computer engineering, or a related field plus one year employment experience with information systems; equivalent education/experience considered.
  • Experience with: writing and maintaining JavaScript or comparable experience with core programming concepts; manipulating delimited data files; testing and validating on a non-production environment prior to publishing changes to a live system; administering a CollegeNET/ApplyWeb application and Admit instance; creating webforms and handling submissions; and automation of communications, with conditions determining recipients and content.
  • Knowledge of database systems.
  • Ability to create within the data system complex data reports.
  • Ability to multi-task. Knowledge of data collection techniques.
  • Knowledge of data analysis concepts and logic.
  • Ability to remain patient with repetitive errors by end users and offer constructive solutions.
  • Ability to think creatively in regard to data collection and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively organize and manage work flow and time.
  • Strong ability to conceptualize a process workflow.
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree and two or more years of full-time, applicable employment experience desirable.
  • Knowledge of how university work is accomplished helpful.
  • Experience with information systems in a higher education setting preferred.
