Full-Time position, scheduled 36 per week on the Nights Shift with a weekend and holiday commitment on 5 North.

5 North is a 34-bed medical inpatient unit housing medical observation, stroke, and general medicine patient populations. The unit has the capability to monitor up to 16 patients on telemetry. The staff work together as an interdisciplinary team to provide respectful, patient-centered care for a diverse patient population. 5 North offers great learning opportunities, the chance to learn and hone many skills, sets the foundation for nursing practice, and facilitates the development of critical thinking as care is provided to a variety of diagnoses. Nurses on this unit earn their NIHSS certification within the first 6 months of hire.

The Registered Nurse Provides quality patient-centered care considering age-specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs through competent clinical practice and application of the nursing process. They consistently integrate concepts of relationship-based care into practice and serves as a clinical and educational resource to others on the unit.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / LICENSURE

Requires current Michigan Nursing License

Graduation from accredited nursing program

New hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five years

New graduate nurses, requires licensure examination scheduled within 45 days of hire
