Nature & Purpose of Position:The position requires a creative and innovative graphic designer to work with the marketing needs of The Institute for Homeland Security (IHS). This position works closely with the full-time staff to ensure that the branding and marketing are integrated within the goals of the clients IHS serves. Student Designers must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and have experience and a basic understanding of all facets of design, including typography, color theory, and design principles and design elements.Creates a variety of digital and print designs for campaigns, signage, social media, posters, and more.Applies creativity and design principles to digital and print designs using Adobe Creative Cloud programs, clearly communicating the purpose of the marketing piece for appropriate audiences.Research ideas, background information, previous designs, inspiration from Directors, etc.Communicates internally in a timely and professional manner, regarding critiques, production updates, and status of projects.
