NASCAR Productions seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Head ofContent Strategy.

This person will be responsible for the development of a dynamic content strategy that allows NASCAR to expand the breadth of our content offerings, while engaging fans across all platforms. This position will focus on developing a strategic roadmap to best utilize a team of creative content creators, supporting league-wide initiatives through coordination with various departments and leaders.

The Head of Content Strategy is the primary thought leader and contributor to business requirements for NASCAR's content management ecosystem and capabilities. This position plays a vital role in shaping how the company tells visual stories and leads the development of new and innovative content experiences. Role requires a multimedia sports content executive with extensive experience in managing live broadcast, studio production, digital media, social media, and podcasting.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and create vision, strategy, and direction for the division and its partnerships.
  • Set strategy for solving content management capabilities through tactical and strategic initiatives. Clearly articulate opportunities for improvement and secure resources and funding needed to deliver those opportunities.
  • Align content offerings and digital channel initiatives across all revenue and service-focused teams to maintain a cohesive strategy.
  • Leverage analytic insights to identify opportunities for improvement. Work collaboratively with content strategy and creation teams to identify content improvements.
  • Oversee the content studio team's creation, development and production of original podcast, social, and digital content experiences for all screens.
  • Collaborate with driver, team, track, and broadcast partners to maximize user experience of their channels.
  • Work with brands to creatively direct the content experience of sponsored channels.
  • Collaborate with both internal division and company departments to maximize program/content strategy and revenue potential.
  • Establish creative content and strategy including staffing, news/content systems, schedules to produce leading edge programs and on-air presentation aired on a nightly, weekly, seasonal and annual basis (Studio Programming).
Required skills / experience:
  • 10+ years of expertise in content development, production and storytelling in a creative agency and/or internal creative/production team
  • Track record of experience/background in audience/community building and strategy.
  • Expert knowledge of content development/creation processes (i.e., creative briefs, setting realistic turnaround times for creative projects, developing and maintaining brand and other standards).
  • Experience managing budgets effectively.
  • Extensive experience in both traditional and digital media formats.
  • Experience tracking projects using collaborative tools.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and departments.
  • Strong network in the content production industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Business judgment; strategic and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask, managing multiple projects with tight timelines.
  • A team-oriented mindset and an ability to relate to others and develop sound relationships.
  • Production experience required.
  • Excellent collaborator and team player.
  • Tireless advocate for the industry, who is passionate about the sport and fans' user experience.
  • Trend-spotter who understand popular culture and the global media landscape.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, including weekends
