ABOUT THE ROLE?

AstraZeneca is looking for a Sr Director of Digital Services to lead a newly combined team of 20-25 employees to advance our Lean, Agile, and User Experience (UX) capabilities beyond theory and pilots into practical, standardised, and scaled adoption. This leader will bring vision, energy, and passion to accelerating value and business advantage through Lean, Agile, and UX practices. They must bring superior change leadership skills to define and implement measurable shifts in mindsets, behaviours, and practices across large, global, decentralised, cross-functional organisation. Successful candidates will have strong executive presence and a track record in leading successful global deployments of Agile, Lean, and UX capabilities in digital organisations. They must have proven experience in influencing a business to change the way they work at scale, up-skilling talent far beyond their own team, and measuring value from digital ways of working.
This leader will partner with digital and business leaders to develop the vision, strategy, and frameworks for our Lean, Agile, and UX capabilities. They will lead the implementation of these frameworks through a core set of business services delivered by their direct team and aligned to a centre of excellence operating model. Working with key stakeholders, they will set ambitious goals that require them to bring energy, passion, and grit to ensure practical and pragmatic adoption of these capabilities. This role will initially focus on implementing Lean, Agile, and UX strategies and frameworks within the global IT organisation. Leverage that momentum, they will then partner with other business leaders to prioritise and scale these digital capabilities and practices across other global business functions and teams.
This role requires a leader who is recognised as a subject matter expert in Lean, Agile, and UX. They must be comfortable getting hands-on to define and gain strong business alignment with strategies and frameworks. They must be equipped to translate business change into measured and clearly understood business value. They will gain support for and lead investments in tools, training, and processes necessary to achieve key business outcomes. This position will additionally serve as a key member of the Insights & Technology Excellence (IGNITE) leadership team - actively contributing to other enterprise services that are critical to unlocking the full potential of our technology, data, and insights.
