Position Summary
The COVID Data Specialist provides a high standard of service excellence to both internal and external customers; and serve as the primary COVID data specialist for the HCC. This individual demonstrates leadership to the other Healthcare Administrative Specialists, competence and initiative by preforming a variety of functions, including compliance, reporting, information technology duties and support, is responsible fee and billing and other administrative duties. This person interfaces with various COVID data personnel within the University and externally as need be.
This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.
The mission of the University of Denver Health and Counseling Center (HCC) is to provide exceptional, inclusive, integrated health care. We promote student success and wellness through education, advocacy and outreach to the University of Denver community. The HCC is an on-campus health facility open 8am-5pm M-F with evening hours until 7pm one to two evenings a week during the academic year, and provides a wide range of on-site medical and mental health services. We are especially interested in considering applications from members of underrepresented groups, first generation college graduates or who work on topics related to these issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Health Information and Reporting Duties:
Assists with the creation, oversight and maintenance of all data, records and accounts necessary for care delivery, quality assessment, and improvement and utilization of services for the Health and Counseling Center in regard to COVID related tests and result processing. Works collaboratively with DU administrative and clinical staff, as well as other COVID staff to develop standardized reporting from practice software for productivity or clinical initiatives related to the pandemic. Generates population lists and sends standardized messages through banner to student populations for pandemic testing and resulting, SHIP Enrollment, SHIP Expiration, Immunization compliance, and HCC balance notifications. Manages or oversees import and export of data between multiple systems including NJH, CIIS, Banner, Point and Click, and Quest Diagnostics. Process all required immunizations including Flu and COVID vaccines to ensure compliance. Remove immunization holds in Banner, and other duties as assigned.
Working collaboratively with the Assistant Director for Information and Systems, reports and retrieves data on a routine and ad-hoc basis from practice software related to pandemic services, administered vaccinations, incomplete documentation, special population usage and services.
Communication
Creates, implements and oversees communications programs, be it internal or external, that effectively describe and promote DU HCC.
