Heavy Civil Estimator We are one of the largest employee-owned commercial, industrial, heavy civil, and marine contractors in the Northeast, and we are continuing to grow. Throughout our 70 years in the construction and construction services industry we have safely and efficiently planned, managed, and constructed many technically complex, historic, and environmentally sensitive projects for a variety of public and private clients across the US.

We are looking for a highly experienced heavy civil estimator to join the team. This position requires the preparation of contract proposal estimates for a variety of complex projects. The position will also involve the review of proposals, specifications, and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents to estimate, in addition to determining the suitability of the project and the availability of resources to bid the project and continually monitors the work through completion.

What You Will Be Doing - Analyzing subcontractor and vendor quotes to confirm scope
pricing
- Preparing conceptual estimates and budgets for projects to include analysis points for internal discussion
- Updating unit, labor, material, and equipment rates in cost databases
- Developing subcontractor relationships for the solicitation of bids
What You Need for this Position Related Bachelors and more Than 5 Years of experience and knowledge of:

- Horizontal construction
- Heavy civil bridge experience required or equivalent field experience
- Bridge/heavy civil dam, concrete, steel, pile driving, coffer dam experience required
- Ability to estimate other areas (structural or similar) on smaller projects is a plus
- HCSS / Heavy Bid preferred
- Subcontractor solicitations
- Reports and analysis pertinent to construction estimating
- Quantity take-offs
- Deadline management
