And is currently seeking a Home Loans Product Manager for their corporate operations based in Sacramento, CA. This is permanent role, offering great pay and full benefits, and has a hybrid option.

Job Description:

The Home Loans Product Manager is responsible for driving growth and implementing loan programs that cater to communities and expand the companies footprint throughout California. The Product Manager will oversee mortgage products and be responsible for the long-term vision, strategy, roadmap, and launch of products and product enhancements to provide exceptional member experiences.

The position will be required to drive loan growth, and oversee planning, implementation, and evaluation of different programs and projects to ensure we are delivering products of value to our members throughout all the communities we serve. The Product Manager will learn about individual community needs through local community or state officials/programs to increase homeownership to build financial strength and security for our members. This role will also lead projects to achieve success in accordance with defined targets, strategies, and goals of the company.

TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:

  • Expand the affordable housing program to meet the needs of underserved Californians. Underserved is defined as low to moderate income borrowers, borrowers with limited savings, or borrowers that have limited access to credit. (i.e., CalHFA, Down Payment Assistance Programs, VA, etc.)
  • Manage existing home loan programs and proactively develop new programs to align with market changes and expansion goals.
  • Lead efforts to develop on going home loan education (including home buyer workshops, first time buyer education events, podcasts, social media awareness) to bring awareness to the home loan program and home ownership opportunities.
  • Manage a quarterly home loan guideline review process. This includes researching competitor, agency, and investor guidelines.
  • Maintain and update guidelines as needed based on credit risk management, investor, or agency changes. Review changes with stakeholders to ensure additional process, system, training, and procedural changes are implemented as needed.
  • Responsible for research, presenting, and developing new home loan programs.
  • Lead planning, coordination, and implementation of new home loan programs with marketing, compliance, operations, secondary market, community relations, and home loans production and operations teams.
  • Identify investors and partners and lead efforts to create loan programs to provide down payment assistance and /or grants for the credit union.
  • Lead marketing efforts related to loan programs to develop materials that cater to specific programs or community needs to foster home ownership.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Education team to develop, implement, and manage a program for credit wellness and down payment savings plans to help members to move towards home ownership.
  • Manage the implementation of new policies or policy updates and procedures as they relate to home loan programs.
  • Manage Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) relationships for the Credit Union to ensure PMI programs align the portfolio loan programs.
  • Stay informed of industry changes, new offerings, and create information reports to communicate opportunities to home loans leadership on future investor/partner relationships and product offerings.
  • Develop internal communications and information reports related to loan programs, industry changes, or as assigned related to business unit efforts to support the home loan program.
  • Create presentations, reports, summaries, and materials to communicate home loan developments and deliver a company-wide understanding of home loan programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of home loan product development experience. Practical experience with affordable housing underwriting and loan closing practices.
  • Ability to effectively work with governmental agencies and private sector organizations.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • • In-depth knowledge of program management and development procedures
  • • Knowledge of general housing trends and finance principals
  • • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
