The Role:
Join our dynamic team as the HR Site Manager, where your strategic HR expertise will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive work environment and supporting the team's goals. As the HR Site Manager based in Portland, you will be the primary point of contact for HR-related matters at the site location. You will collaborate closely with local client groups and leadership to address challenges, implement effective HR strategies, and contribute to overall customer service excellence. Your role is crucial in driving Chegg's success by aligning HR strategies with organizational objectives and ensuring a positive work environment.

In addition to partnering with leaders in the organization, you will also work in close partnership with the Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, and Total Rewards & Operations teams on a variety of HR activities and initiatives. This role reports to the Director, HRBP and will be based at our office in Portland, OR.

Responsibilities:

Execution of HR Strategies (25%)

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all HR-related inquiries and concerns at the site location, working closely with local client groups, including our Student Advocacy Team (SAT), to understand their goals, challenges, and HR needs.
  • Build strong partnerships with leadership to address and resolve HR issues effectively.
  • Foster collaboration and communication to ensure HR strategies align with client group's objectives and contribute to overall customer service excellence.
  • Work closely with the corporate HR team to integrate HR programs, initiatives, and training.
  • Focus on talent acquisition, employee development, performance management, and other HR-related functions to enhance team performance.
  • Ensure alignment with company-wide HR standards and practices.
Employee Relations (30%)
  • Address and resolve employee relation issues, conflicts, and concerns to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Support leadership in initiatives aimed at enhancing service quality and customer satisfaction.
Generalist Support (25%)
  • Perform HR Generalist duties encompassing a variety of HR functions, including but not limited to onboarding, benefits administration, HRIS management, recruiting, and employee engagement.
  • Enter and oversee Workday changes, encompassing manager changes, internal transfers, and other ad hoc requests.
  • Facilitate the employee offboarding process by conducting exit interviews and compiling termination notice details.
  • Collaborate with the Workplace Services team to onboard new employees, organize events, enhance employee experience, and host leadership during their visits.
  • Collaborate with our Talent team and hiring managers to support onsite interviews.
Compliance and Policy Development (20%)
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and initiatives tailored to the unique needs of the site location.

Requirements:
  • 3+ years proven experience as an HR Business Partner (HRBP) and in HR management roles.
  • Basic understanding of Oregon & California employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong proficiency in time off, sick time, and leave of absence policies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Workday and MS Office Suite.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs.
The pay range for this position is $106,667 to $198,09. The actual pay will vary based on geographic location, job requirements, professional experience, and other factors.
