JOB SUMMARY

The Human Resources Generalist provides human resources support at TSI's headquarters location in Shoreview, MN. This position partners closely with operations management team, supervisors and employees on the various HR processes, activities and initiatives. Reporting to the HR Manager - Functions and Talent, this position plays a key role in TSI's HR organization to ensure there is an increased focus in delivering HR services that align to TSI's strategy and ensuring a positive employee experience. This role will provide location guidance on human resources topics including operational issues, employee relations, recruiting, retention, performance management, time & attendance, benefits and payroll. This position also has one direct report who assists with HR coordination.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for providing day to day human resources support and aligning business objectives with local employees, supervisors and management with a specific focus on employee engagement, employee relations management, performance management, staffing, compliance, payroll and benefits.
  • Handle intake of all employee relations issues and ensuring they are accurately identified, reported, investigated and resolved in collaboration with the HR Manager, legal and supervisors/managers.
  • Partner with hiring managers on recruiting efforts including posting, screening of candidates, and participating on interview panels.
  • Manage temporary agency relationships and act as point of contact for all temporary workforce onsite.
  • Assist in benefits administration, including annual open enrollment.
  • Manage, assist and resolve employee benefit and payroll questions or concerns including initiating and managing claims with third party vendors (leave management, workers compensation, COBRA).
  • Closely monitor time and attendance in adherence to company policy and work with supervisors and managers to effectively manage performance of employees.
  • Maintain accurate employees records in HR systems and employee files as well administer the site Affirmative Action Plan (AAP).
  • Conduct training and support for processes such as New Employee Orientation, Benefits Open Enrollment, Respectful Workplace, etc.
  • Promote an environment that welcomes, encourages and fosters diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Collaborate with other HR team members on projects, initiatives or other duties as assigned.
  • Supervise direct report's work activities and performance while providing coaching, recognition and encourage a culture of teamwork and engagement locally and with the global HR team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This position has one direct report.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 5 years of progressive human resource experience preferably in a manufacturing or operations setting.
  • Working knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of performance management, employee engagement practices, benefits, payroll, recruiting and employee relations.
Desired
  • HR certifications such as PHR, SPHR or SHRM-CP.
  • Experience working in manufacturing or operations facility.
  • Experience with mergers, acquisitions or divestitures.
