Job Description

GPIis seekinga Hydrology/Hydraulics engineer for our Lebanon, NJ office. You will primarily support transportation and site development projects.

  • Experience should include storm drainage design, stormwater management, BMP analysis and design, stream restoration, floodplain studies, familiarity with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, TR-55, and/or other similar hydrologic, hydraulic, and drainage engineering design programs
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic studies utilizing HEC-HMS and/or HEC-RAS
  • Prepare Storm Water Management Plans for sites with complex drainage
  • Exercise knowledge of the construction process as it relates to permitting and surveying
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred
  • 2 or more years of professional engineering experience related to the performance of infrastructure, hydrology, and hydraulics design related projects
  • Experience with Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) modeling of riverine systems, floodplain delineation, culvert, and bridge hydraulics, scour analysis, erosion and sediment control design, plan review, and plan and report preparation


  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
