The Relationship Manager will handle multi-faceted relationships as you call on prospective and existing clients to generate loans, deposits, and fees for a geographic area. You will determine credit eligibility, prepare loan narratives, ensure loans meet appropriate criteria, and effectively cross-sell a wide variety of products. Your responsibilities include marketing products and services, including preparing for client calls, making sales calls, and call follow-up as well as monitoring and enhancing profitability on all assigned relationships. The Relationship Manager participates in the achievement of corporate sales and service goals to build customer (external/internal) relationships and enhance shareholder value.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Essential Functions/Responsibilities for Level I:
    • The RM I develops comprehensive, client-focused relationships which are inclusive of commercial deposits and business banking loans.
    • The RM I communicates and executes the Bank's vision of exceeding clients' expectations and satisfying their financial needs by building long-term relationships using a client-centered, value-added approach. The RM I position will generally be located in a high business opportunity sales center, market hub or other high business potential area
    • Identifies business within a geographical area, researches the business to determine banking needs, and develops a plan for initiating contact and establishing a business need for the client meeting.
    • Focuses primarily on the successful implementation of external sales calls, building relationships with existing clients and developing prospects.
    • Schedules joint sales calls with assigned SCMs, LOB partners and other FFB associates to develop appropriate relationships and meet the client's needs.
    • Conducts joint sales calls with FFB management; develops consultative sales skills and increases product knowledge to better represent FFB to the client.
    • Achieves sales goals and manages pipeline activities.
    • Refers business to other lines of business when client needs fall outside of the RM I product offering, including Commercial Lending, Treasury Management and Wealth Management.
    • Identifies and builds center of influence network to assist in developing sales opportunities.
    • Develops professional business appropriate relationships in the community which provide a positive impact on the business results of the Commercial Banking LOB, actively participates in civic activities and community focused organizations (i.e. local Chamber of Commerce) with the purpose of sourcing business development opportunities.
    • Tracks, reports and communicates business results and activities to internal FFB management.
    • Generally handles loan relationships with aggregate exposure of $100K to $1.5M and portfolios of $15M to $20M.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Job
  • The RM I will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in exceeding retail and business goals in a sales environment, preferably in the financial services industry. In addition, the RM I will have experience in the following areas:
  • demonstrated success with consultative, needs-based selling;
  • working knowledge of loan policies and procedures;
  • strong product knowledge in commercial banking, , and commercial deposits
  • working independently as a "self-starter;" demonstrating motivation to achieve goals.
  • Formal credit training a plus
  • College degree; Bachelor's degree preferred or a combination of experience and education
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and cash flow analysis.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills are required
