Position Summary

ITT Goulds Pumps Industrial Process Division is seeking an Import Specialist for the Seneca Falls Operations (SFO facility) who will work directly with the Import Manager while also collaborating with site operations, global supply chain, suppliers, customer service and sales. The successful candidate will be responsible to support US import activities while ensuring compliance to U. S. import requirements through application of internal procedures and processes and identifying opportunity for optimal trade compliance synergies within the business.
Essential Responsibilities

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Reviews transactions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate internally with Import Manager responding to all governmental Requests for Information (RFI), Notices of Action or any other governmental request concerning import activities.
  • Review and approval of international supplier commercial documentation.
  • Identify, declare and document assists as required.
  • Support post-entry audits.
  • Able to classify products with appropriate HS codes and update product master.
  • Analyze opportunity and compile required documentation to support duty drawback efforts.
  • Support stakeholder requests with regard to INCOTERMS, etc. to optimize product delivery supplier / intra-company drop shipments.
  • Support sales proposals for shipping terms requests.
  • Maintaining legal records to ensure proof of compliance.
  • Assisting ITT Trade Leadership in conducting internal investigations, related to any alleged infractions or violations of applicable U.S. export or import regulations.
  • Identifying and reporting to ITT Trade Leadership any potential violations of trade compliance regulations and implementing process improvements to mitigate risk.
  • Identifying gaps in compliance and methods for process and procedure improvements.
  • Collaborating with ITT logistics department on issues which relate to both trade compliance and logistics.
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Global Supply Chain, Logistics or related field preferred. Licensed U.S. Customs Broker strongly preferred.
  • 2-3 years' supporting import compliance actions and activities
  • Experience with U.S. government programs such as ACE (AES),
  • Deep understanding of U.S. import regulations.
  • Experience working with various ERP systems.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of individuals and work well as a team member. Must be open to challenges, new ideas, and change. Must be able to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must be US citizen or permanent resident.
  • In depth knowledge of Census and Department of Commerce regulations relevant to U. S. Import requirements is required; experience with INCO and freight terms, free trade zones, duty drawback, assists, and product classification.
