Job Description

Position Overview
The Incident & Nonconformance Program Manager, O&M (Operations & Maintenance) role reports to the Director of Renewable O&M Strategy. This is a new role within the organization tasked with enhancing our incident investigation programs to take them to the next level. The role will help facilitate a continuous improvement process to improve, streamline, and document our current ad-hoc systems into a unified program. The Incident & Nonconformance Program Manager will partner with Operations, Engineering and EHS to follow processes that they've implemented and probe incidents from equipment failure to workplace injuries. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of managing an incident and nonconformance program or group within an existing organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead teams to prepare, investigate, and manage incidents, analyze data, reach conclusions, and make recommendations to ensure safety and minimize the operational impact to our internal and external customers
  • Guide personnel through completion of investigations, ensuring quality and timeliness standards are met/exceeded
  • Facilitate incident investigations as necessary
  • Assess completed investigations for thoroughness and quality
  • Analyze efficacy of corrective actions identified during investigations, identifying trends and areas for improvement
  • Periodically reports status of incident investigations to executive leadership and, when required, regulatory agencies
  • Design and deliver investigation process training
  • Manage our 3rd party training provider for incident investigations
  • Improve personnel problem solving skills through training, mentorship, and guidance
  • Develop network/forum for knowledge sharing and investigation support from peers
  • 50% Travel
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Thorough understanding of incident management standards and methodologies
  • 5 to 10 years of related experience required
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in incident management
  • Previous incident management experience in renewable operations, utility operations, construction operations or a transferable industry operation
  • Self-starter, ambitious and comfortable working with and without direction
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train staff
  • Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, with knowledge of EHS Software and Cause Mapping a plus, but not required
  • Knowledge of the energy industry and plus, but not required
