Semmes Murphey Clinic is committed to implementing a team-based approach to provide excellence in patient care. The Indexing Support staff will work with other members of Semmes Murphey Clinic to provide patient services and is expected to participate in the appropriate team activities with the objective of providing a high standard of patient and clinical service. The Indexing Support staff is responsible for indexing scanned documents into the patient electronic medical record. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Index scanned documents into patient electronic medical record
  • Identify and assign accurate document type and summary when naming indexed documents
  • Monitor documents for appropriate image quality
  • Process documents in InDxLogic that fail to auto-index to the patient electronic medical record
  • Maintain confidentiality adhering to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
  • Interact with coworkers in a professional and pleasant manner
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CREDENTIALS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Competency in working with electronic documents/filing systems
PREFERRED

One (1) year related experience and/or training

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), Internet software, and practice management software
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail
  • High level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Effective communication, both oral and written
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing these responsibilities the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit for extended periods of time and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 5 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include the visual capacity for frequent use of a computer.
