Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Individual Giving Specialist is responsible for personally managing and developing a portfolio of 150 patron and major donors and prospects. In addition, the Individual Giving Specialist will manage the major giving unrestricted solicitation process and schedule. This is a front-facing position and will work closely with donors and leadership. Key responsibilities include:
• Manage and steward a personal portfolio of 150 donors and prospects;
• Oversee the major giving unrestricted solicitation process and schedule;
• Identify, qualify, cultivate and solicit potential donors and secure patron and major gifts;
• Develop and implement strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects to secure annual support and build engagement with NJ PB;
• Work closely with Director of Development and PMNJ leadership to cultivate and solicit major donor prospects;
• Write and edit proposals and reports to donors.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualified candidates are highly organized with the ability to be proactive, work effectively and flexibly in a fast-paced, team environment. Effective interpersonal and communications skills, including excellent writing and editing skills will be needed. Additional qualifications include:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with individual donors; applicants with experience working within the New Jersey philanthropic community are preferred;
• An innovative thinker and strategist with a track record of developing membership giving into higher-level giving;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Proficiency with MS Office.

Candidates with experience working with CRM and fundraising databases are preferred.
