Job Description
We're seeking a hands-on Industrial Engineer with a positive attitude who'll work collaboratively with other members of our team to integrate knowledge of established policies and processes with innovative, pragmatic thinking to create alternative methods that will drive operational, planning, and systems improvements. What You'll Do:
Your work will center around our 427,000 square foot, full-service, Sun Prairie distribution center where you'll work to better our facilities, material handling and storage systems to achieve company objectives in regard to productivity, efficiency, customer service, safety, and quality assurance.
You'll also be responsible for:
• Process flow analysis, operational systems process documentation, engineered labor standards, methods improvement, productivity and cost reduction analysis, capital equipment justification and the use of quantitative analysis techniques
• Developing and leading new equipment installation projects including space planning and warehouse layout and justifications
• Assisting in the development of long-range strategic planning and capital budget preparation for all Operations
• Resolving related vendor issues, reviewing and negotiating with vendors (software and material handling systems)
Qualifications
What It Takes:
We need an energetic leader with a background in Industrial Engineering. This person must be self-motivated and a clear communicator who can drive process improvements in a friendly manner. Ideally, you'll have a Bachelors' degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering and 2+ years of related experience.
In addition, we are looking for:
• Demonstrated success in process re-engineering for process/productivity improvement &/or cost reduction
• 2+ years of fulfillment/warehousing/distribution/logistics management experience
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to generate innovative solutions
• An extensive knowledge and use of MS Office and Windows applications
• CAD and Warehouse Management and Host computer systems experience
• The ability to travel to different company locations in the Midwest
