Supervise and provide guidance to Inside Sales Representatives regarding department policies, performance, procedures, and workflow. Assist in hiring, mentoring, coaching and evaluating team members' performance. Demonstrate effective leadership to improve individual performance and develop teamwork and team support. Manage change and encourage collaborative relationships, involvement and initiative. Represent PacificSource in the marketplace and source clients for PacificSource's Medicare Advantage and Individual products and services primarily via telesales. Build positive relationships through education of company products and services.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision, coaching, training, support, evaluation and leadership to assigned staff.
  • Assist with process improvement and work with other departments to improve interdepartmental processes. Utilize lean methodologies for continuous improvement. Utilize visual boards and daily huddles to monitor key performance indicators and identify improvement opportunities of the sales team.
  • Assist Internal Sales Representatives with Medicare Advantage and Individual plans, primarily through incoming leads.
  • Respond to prospective and current members for information on the Company's Medicare Advantage and Individual plans. Evaluate current coverage needs and eligibility for enrollment.
  • Assist the Medicare Sales team with outbound lead follow up as needed.
  • Complete phone and walk in enrollments.
  • Share market intelligence with Leadership gained from inbound and outbound calls.
  • Work closely with prospective and current members, and business partners.
  • Monitor, evaluate and report sales performance for the department and determine staffing needs related to day-to-day performance goals.
  • Assist with answering inquiries received by phone, mail, e-mail or in person, providing exceptional service.
  • Coordinate business activities by maintaining collaborative partnerships with key departments.
  • Actively participate as a key team member in department meetings.
  • Actively participate in various strategic and internal committees to disseminate information within the organization and represent company philosophy.
  • Serve as back-up to the Medicare Sales Manager as needed.
  • Assist with hiring, staff development, coaching, performance reviews, corrective actions, and termination of employees. Provide feedback, including regular one-on-ones and performance evaluations, for direct reports.
  • Be proficient in utilizing the Customer Relationship Management system.

Supporting Responsibilities:
  • Operate in compliance with Medicare's Marketing and Communications Guidelines along with any State and Federal regulatory requirements.
  • Follow the PacificSource privacy policy and HIPAA laws and regulations concerning confidentiality and security of protected health information.
  • Meet department and company performance and attendance expectations.
  • Maintain department visual board.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Experience: Two years medical insurance or other sales experience preferred. Prior customer service experience preferred. Experience in leadership preferred.

Education, Certificates, Licenses: Current Department of Insurance Health and Life Licenses, or eligible to obtain within 90 days of employment is required. A valid driver's license required. Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent years' work experience in lieu of degree.

Knowledge: Ability to gain a thorough understanding of PacificSource products, internal procedures, and the competitive environment. A working knowledge of underwriting and risk factors. Responsible to support the mission of PacificSource Health Plans, meeting departmental goals and performance standards. Timely and accurate response to client needs and requests. Responsible to represent the entire staff in the marketplace through expertise, reliability and professionalism. Prefer well developed relationships within the insurance community. Experience with office management and employee relations.

Environment: Work inside in a general office setting with ergonomically configured equipment. Local travel is required approximately 5-10% of the time.

Physical Requirements: Stoop and bend. Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time while performing core job functions. Repetitive motions to include typing, sorting and filing. Light lifting and carrying of files and business materials. Ability to read and comprehend both written and spoken English. Communicate clearly and effectively.
