Job Title: Instructional Designer

Reports to: Manager of Custom Solutions

Location: Anywhere in the US

 

Job Summary

This role is expected to work in a highly collaborative, innovative, and fast-paced environment. They will be responsible for designing and developing engaging, innovative, and effective content based on FranklinCovey's world-renowned content.

 

The ideal candidate will possess a positive mindset and partner with our design and development team to identify creative solutions to meet the client’s unique learning needs. They should be flexible, collaborative, and self-motivated.



  • Proficient in creating engaging learning activities, assignments, and assessments
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles and theories (e.g., adult learning theory, organizational development, Kirkpatrick mode of evaluation, etc.)
  • Ability to relay industry-specific examples to reinforce the learning
  • Experience defining and documenting actionable and descriptive learning objectives aligned to the overarching program goal(s)
  • Expertise in applying relevant instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE and/or SAM
  • Experience conducting needs assessments and providing recommendations
  • Experience creating storyboards for eLearning modules
  • Ability to write scripts for video and audio content
  • Proven ability to establish credibility quickly with clients and internal teams
  • Ability to establish and maintain a collaborative working environment
  • Flexibility to adapt to constant change
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent ability to collaborate and resolve issues, conflicts, and concerns within the team
  • Accepts feedback and gives feedback constructively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication (verbal and written) and exceptional listening and interpersonal skills

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Master’s Degree in Instructional Designer or Organizational Development preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in course/content development for classroom, eLearning and virtual settings
  • Experience with FranklinCovey content preferred
  • Understanding of curriculum design and adult learning principles
  • Demonstrate genuine curiosity about various industries, cultures, and organizations
  • Demonstrate strong writing skills
  • Demonstrate strong executive presence
  • Demonstrate strong time management skills, including building new tools or processes to enhance team efficiencies
