Role Overview

We are looking for a software intern who has passion and energy to join Enterprise Software team in Arm's Central Engineering - Open-Source Software (CE-OSS) Group.

The Enterprise Software team is responsible for enabling and improving enterprise server and networking software ecosystem around Arm's applications processors. The CE-OSS Group delivers performant, efficient, secure and reliable Arm software and systems to drive Arm technology into real use.

Responsibilities:

As an intern, you will focus on open-source support for enterprise server and networking software systems on Arm architecture. You will be working with Arm internal teams as well as other partners to help develop, optimize and deliver the software needed to support Arm's ground breaking IP. A key part of this role is to help Arm maintain its leadership in the low-power market, as well as helping Arm grow its role in enterprise segment.

A successful candidate would be flexible with a variety of software development skills and a dedication to extend the breadth and depth of your knowledge.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Pursuing master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other engineering degrees with meaningful experience.
  • Familiar with C/C++, assembly language and Linux programming.
  • Familiar with one or more script languages such as Python, Perl, etc.
  • Understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, data structure, algorithm, and concurrent programming.
  • Familiar with L2-L7 networking stacks.
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly distributed tools such as Git or SVN
  • Quick learner, good problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in English. Clear and effective written and verbal communication.
  • Good teammate, flexible, and willing to take challenges.
"Nice To Have" Skills and Experience:
  • Familiar with Linux Kernel module development.
  • Familiar with open-source project development cycles and contribution process.
  • Knowledge of software development and optimization on ARM architecture.
  • Understanding of I/O and networking and their impact on software performance.
  • Familiar with concepts and standards related to SDN and NFV.
  • Knowledge of containers, docker and Kubernetes.
