Job Description

Position Purpose:

Within the North America Municipal Water Business Unit, this Intern supports the Executives of the Development, Strategy and Innovation (DS&I) Team. With a solid opportunity to work on various strategic topics in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders, this Intern should gain a 360-degree view of Veolia's Municipal Water activities across the United States.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Conduct market research and competitor analysis in collaboration with marketing. Support Regional Business Development Directors' efforts, and help identify potential targets. Monitor important trends and recent moves in the Municipal Water scope with market research.
  • Strategy: Help prepare sales plans, growth strategy, long-term goals and budgets. Create presentations for executives, organize workshops and assist in facilitating group meetings.
  • Innovation: Conduct research on innovative ideas with high-growth potential, and perhaps participate in the development of new offerings with Subject Matter Experts related to the topic.
  • Commercial performance: Help solve operational problems depending on the current strategic needs of the company, as well as analyze data and make recommendations.

Work Environment:

Full-time Position sits in Paramus, NJ. Seeking a intern for a period of 6-12+ months, who will be then graduated from their Masters' program and ready to potentially join Veolia at the end of the Internship as an employee.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • Bachelors' degree Required - in business, civil engineering, environmental (or related).
  • Masters' degree in progress or completed.
  • Previous experience in a similar sector is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Time management/Ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines, adapting and
  • prioritizing tasks.
  • Project management/Ability to manage several projects at the same time with
  • numerous stakeholders involved.
  • Ability to absorb and synthesize a large amount of information.
  • Self-starting, flexible and responsive.
  • Proactive and willing to take initiatives.
  • Passionate and curious to learn and assume new responsibilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information.
  • Proficient with Google Suite.
