Overview

Steampunk is looking for an IT Governance Subject Matter Expert to support one of our federal customers. They will support a dynamic team that provides engineering services across a variety of platforms and technology. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, who is interested in learning the latest technology and has a proven ability to learn quickly and apply training to solve real world engineering problems.
Contributions

  • Assesses, implements, and analyzes IT controls as a part of the Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA).
  • Authors, monitors, tracks and supports execution of corrective action plan to get S&T to a FITARA ITMMM Level 3 Maturity.
  • Conducts compliance assessments by understanding business objectives, structure, policies and procedures, internal controls, and external regulations.
  • Conducts benchmarking and market research to identify performance gaps against industry standards. Generates benchmarking datasets.
  • Identifies trends and patterns in datasets to determine performance drivers, and presents insights and recommendations based on the analysis to key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Develops and maintains Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure and monitor the performance of the requirements.
  • Develops and maintains dashboard(s) for performance reporting. Provides ongoing implementation, change management, and strategic communications and documentation support.
  • Works with process owners to document current processes and re-design/document processes to be more efficient and result in strengthened internal controls.
  • Reviews all current state processes, provides analysis and recommendations to improve current processes and to address process gaps.
  • Works with all IT staff to adapt standardized processes (COBIT, ITIL, IEEE, etc). Identifies priorities and targets for process improvement.
  • Develops and maintains process mapping, depicting processes and workflows across organizational boundaries.
  • Provides training, support, and monitoring/assessments for implementation of IT processes.
  • Develops sustainable mechanisms to document, store, and retrieve all IT policies, standards, and processes.
  • Identifies federal workforce staffing gaps and training gaps.
Qualifications
  • 10 -15+ years of experience organizing IT departments to install new IT governance programs that are established on frameworks to include, but not limited to: COBIT, ITIL, CMMI, ISO38500, and FEA.
  • Experience with FITARA Policy and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Information Technology Management Maturity Model (ITMMM).
  • Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) certification
