Job Description

Responsibilities are (but limited to):

  • Develop diagrams and reference guides for all technologies managed by ITISC01.
  • Build and maintain bill of materials for all purchased, licensed, and supported technologies managed by ITISC01.
  • Provide operational and tactical guidance for all technologies managed by ITISC01.
  • Build and maintain successful relationships with GSC Competencies & Standards, Group Architecture Office, and GSC IT Security.
  • Lead efforts to pilot and implement new technologies using a solid proof-of-concept process in alignment with GSC Competencies & Standards, Group Architecture Office, and GSC IT Security.
  • Ensure technologies managed by ITISC01 are designed and implemented in full compliance with GxP, HIPAA, IT Security, and any other regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as the escalation for triage or permanent resolution of any problems, incidents, outages, and requests within ITISC01. Provide resolution and updates to stakeholders in a timely manner that meets or exceeds SLAs.
  • Facilitate and implement use of scripting, programming, automation, orchestration, and configuration management of all technologies managed by ITISC01 in alignment with industry best practices, Group C&S, IT Security, ITISC01, and BU requirements.
  • Develop and maintain budget inputs and guidance in alignment with delivery dates.
  • Develop and maintain a master task list, demand register, and produce a regular status report to PMO and leadership.
  • Keep all stakeholders up to date on all Planning efforts in a relevant and easily understood way. Set and keep commitments to delivery dates for Planning materials.
  • Develop technology and services designed to meet or exceed customer SLAs and support other Operations teams in increasing customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with Asset and Financial Controlling to successfully and accurately manage the IT Stock program to ensure minimization of costs to ITISC01, availability to customers, and effective use of IT Stock assets.
  • Partner with Project Management Office to deliver all key project inputs and lead projects following all PMO standards, policies, and procedures as needed.
  • Stay up to date on all Eurofins documentation and training. Put Eurofins documentation and training into practice in all aspects of the role.
  • Advocate for and empower all other Operations team members in Planning methods and processes such as generating bills of materials, creating and maintaining design diagrams, developing reference guides, and following robust planning processes.
  • Perform due diligence and infrastructure planning for businesses in the merger and acquisition pipeline as requested.
  • Accurately and fully present options with for infrastructure to stakeholders that meet all key requirements including, but not limited to quality, cost, speed of delivery, and expected functionality.
  • Support efforts to fully empower the Build and Run teams to operate effectively, efficiently, and independently within Planning design guidance.
  • Participate in the on-call support program. Drive remediation of impact while preserving data to facilitate root cause analysis.
  • Participate in Build activities as requested including travel to locations within the scope of ITISC01.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • 3+ years experience in an IT Infrastructure team as part of a managed service provider or equivalent experience with managed service providers
  • Proficiency in scripting, programming, automation, orchestration, and configuration management following industry best practices
  • 3+ years experience developing key budget inputs and guidance for an IT Infrastructure team preferably within a life sciences organization
  • Proven track record of delivering IT Infrastructure services with high customer satisfaction preferably measured in NPS at or above IT industry or managed service provider averages
  • 5+ years experience in an IT Infrastructure team operating in a GxP and HIPAA regulatory environment
  • Experience, training, or knowledge of ALCOA, GxP, qualification, and validation processes
  • Knowledge of business financial and managerial accounting such as depreciation, amortization, return on investment, time-value of money, net terms, operating expenses, capital expenditure, and cost of labor; experience with GAAP is ideal
  • Ability to lift IT equipment and related structures up to 50 lbs independently
At a minimum, the candidate must possess:
  • 15+ years of experience managing a broad and diverse set of infrastructure technologies including, but not limited to cloud, compute, monitoring, storage, disaster recovery, messaging, collaboration, database administration, OS platform systems administration, networking, voice, and IT security
  • 5+ years experience developing, designing, and implementing new infrastructure technologies preferably in a life sciences organization with GxP and HIPAA regulatory compliance
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology or related science or technology discipline; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience; master's degree preferred
  • Hands-on subject matter expertise in a broad and diverse set of infrastructure technologies preferably as primary job responsibilities throughout their career
  • Ability to effectively communicate IT concepts with stakeholders at all levels and in all areas of an organization in a way that is relevant and able to be understood by a listener who has no background in IT
  • Ability to understand and retain information in verbal and written form with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to communicate in verbal and written form in a timely and professional manner preferably in a scientific or academic style
  • Ability to simultaneously perform multiple tasks at once and quickly transition between tasks when interrupted
  • Ability to look at a computer screen for extended periods without interruption
  • Ability to type at 50 WPM with high accuracy
  • Ability to perform duties more than 5 feet off the floor supported by a ladder or similar structure
  • Ability to drive by car or travel by air as needed, potentially for extended periods
  • Analytical skills preferably using a scientific or diagnostic methodology
  • Ability to solve problems and provide a solution that meets or exceeds key requirements of all stakeholders
  • Ability to work in an office or laboratory environment for extended periods
  • Understanding of project management principles; experience or training in project management is preferred
  • Experience leading projects using project management principles including but not limited to maintaining a project plan, building and maintaining a detailed task list, effectively recording meeting notes, and producing status reports
  • Knowledge, training, or experience with ITIL concepts and methods especially with change management and configuration management database; experience acting as a change manager and responsible for maintaining a portion of an active CMDB is preferred
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining infrastructure and process diagrams
  • Ability to perform numerical calculations using arithmetic, algebra; calculus preferred


Additional Information

Position is Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.,withadditional hours, as needed.
