*Enterprise Network and Telecommunications Systems
*Critical Infrastructure for clinical and business operations
*Enterprise wide data and telecom network users throughout the Maryland, DC area. Scale/size of area (# of users, # of servers, # of machines, # of systems supported, transaction volume, # of schools/areas that use system, multiple environments, geography, # of interfaces/integration with other systems): Enterprise wide data and telecom network users throughout the Maryland, DC area.


*Works independently collaborating with Facilities management, network engineering, vendors and other technical teams.
*Work location: Primary East Baltimore campus
*On call requirements (if applicable): Not on call, but responsive if needed during critical path project implementation.


Education: Bachelor's degree required. Experience beyond the work experience requirement may be substituted for the degree on a 2 years of experience for 1 year of education basis. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desirable.

Required Experience: Seven or more years of related work experience with computer systems and applications. Additional education may substitute for experience.

Preferred Job Qualifications: Knowledge in the assigned technical areas this position is responsible for.

Expert knowledge of Structured Cabling Systems.
Expert knowledge of Telecommunications Media; including twisted pair, coaxial and optical fiber types, components and installation methodologies.
Thorough understanding of Bonding and grounding requirements for ICT installations.
Thorough understanding of structured cabling pathway requirements, bend radius, fill capacity, size planning.
Keep current on all codes, standards and fire-stopping related to Information Communication Technology industry.
Keep current on Telecommunications Distribution Methods Manual (TDMM) methods and standards.
Keep current on trends in Copper and Fiber technology including components, installation and testing.
Thorough understanding of Network design methodologies.
Thorough understanding of IEEE standards as applied to low voltage systems.
Working knowledge of power distribution and standards for ICT installations.
Working knowledge of DWDM, Ethernet and telecommunications protocols.
Working knowledge of Standards and security requirements for IT (internet Technology) and OT (Operational Technology) deployments.
Working knowledge of Wireless technology, small cell, and Distributed Antenna systems trends and requirements.
Provide and access construction design and coordination for low voltage systems on large scale new construction and renovation projects.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Thorough understanding of Outside Plant (OSP) cabling requirements and methodologies.
Understanding Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements and responsibilities.
Developing Requests for proposal (RFP) and evaluation of bids for proper scope, materials and installation methods.
Managing technical resources and vendors before, during, and after projects, to ensure a complete installation that meets customer requirements.
Keep Johns Hopkins Cabling Standards documentation up to date.
Ensure complete documentation is received and properly recorded for all fiber optic installations (OSP and ISP).
Demonstrated knowledge consistent with RCDD certification. RCDD certification preferred.
