RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client seeking a Java Developer (Web) in Seattle, WA (Washington). The Java Developer is responsible for implementing software solutions that support AF's short and long-term business strategies. As AF transforms into an Information Technology company that provides arbitration services, the role of the Java Developer is important in bringing the business vision to fruition via easy to use and sensible software solutions. These solutions span both web-based and business-to-business software products.Responsibilities:

• Java Developer will develop and maintain complex software components / systems in compliance with department standards
• Contribute to the implementation of approved system architecture; provide feedback during associated discussions / reviews
• Unit test all software changes; automate wherever possible
• Java Developer will conduct reviews of code up to moderate levels of complexity (review other developer's code, request review of own code)
• Participate in the transformation of user stories into efficient and effective designs, built upon approved system architectures, addressing needs such as scalability, recoverability, security, and maintainability
• Assist as directed with the development of comprehensive technical design documentation (system architecture, high-level & detailed views, database models/design, class diagrams, physical & deployment diagrams, etc.)
• Participate in design discussions
• Java Developer will actively participate in Agile processes & team discussions including daily stand-up meetings, story grooming & sizing, sprint planning & task breakout, and end-of-sprint demos and retrospectives
• Promote software development velocity improvements
• As directed and with guidance from senior personnel, perform research of new tools & technologies

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree within a technical discipline, or the equivalent years of related work experience
• 4+ years of experience with Java 7+
• 4+ years of Spring Boot experience
• 4+ years of experience in Spring
• 4+ years of JPA with Hibernate experience
• 4+ years of experience with database (ANY), SQL Queries
• 3+ years of software development experience

Knowledge, with preference for hands on experience, of the following technologies/environments:

• Java and JEE standards including Servlets, JSP, JSTL, EJB, JMS, JAX-RS, JAX-WS
• Spring Framework, including Spring Data/Repositories
• RESTful services and Resource Oriented Architectures
• JSON, XML (including DTD and XSD), JAXB, DOM and SAX
• JPA/Hibernate
• Frontend JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery or AngularJS/Angular
• Git, JBoss or other JEE application server
• AWS nice to have
• Redis nice to have
