Scope of Position:

Working under the direction of the Materials Manager or Senior Buyer, uses the Electronic Resource Planning module for procurement of job specific components and replenishment of stock items. Develops and/or maintains purchasing data, works to control costs, prepares various purchasing reports, and maintains a purchasing database to support manufacturing. Develops professional relationships with suppliers to better support Mestex's material requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prioritizes customer on-time shipments and departmental
• Maintains databases within the materials section to ensure proficient operation of the ERP system.
• Resolves problems regarding delivery, pricing and
• Handles internal supporting documents for accounting and other departments as
• Balances buy quantities with delivery times to induce the most turns
• Assures department records are maintained, purchases are followed up and/or expedited when
• Ensures appropriate documents are maintained and used stating all terms and
• Conforms to all Quality and Environmental Management System policies, objectives and obligations.

• Demonstrated proficiency on MS office
• Proficiency in use and understanding of an ERP
• Outstanding organizational skills along with oral and written
• Minimum 2 year degree with 1-2 years purchasing experience required.
